THE ‘missing link’ of the road connecting Ngemah in Kanowit District to Temalat in Song District is expected to be opened to the public after the completion of the project in August 2021.

Assistant Minister of Transportation Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said 7.4 per cent of the project has been completed which is 1.5 per cent behind schedule when replying to questions raised by Alexander Vincent (PRS-Ngemah).

“Costing RM79.076 million, the road construction started February this year and it will take 30 months to complete,” he said.

Meanwhile, replying to a question on the Stapang water supply project raised by Christopher Gira Sambang (PRS-Tamin), Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang said the water filter plant project at Stapang in Selangau has been approved by the Ministry of Rural Development for implementation.

A consultant engineer has been appointed to design the project and the ministry has made it compulsory for conditions such as value management laboratory to be fulfilled prior to tendering stage, he said.

On supplementary questions from Gira, Liwan said that the project would benefit a total of 335 households.
